[He thinks about these non-possibilities for a moment and dunks himself in the water, resurfacing a moment later shaking his head like a wet dog.] I dunno, man, I could probably do the whirl pool thing, but Flash hasn't really gotten around to teaching me the art of running on water. And, uh, I kinda don't wanna drown.
[He laughs as well, imagining Alfred in one of those swim suits. God, that would be a sight.] No, no, oh my god if he did though.... no when we come out to the beach he usually just has his normal suit pants and white shirt and vest. He just like, rolls the bottoms of the pants and doesn't go in the water.
[Watches him as he goes under and back up again, just...just cause he wants to alright? He doesn't really know why. And it's not weird, okay? It's not. He's just...okay maybe it's kind of strange but he can't help but smile a little.] Dude, you should totally try it out. We can do tests and training and stuff on the part of Gotham bay right near the cave. It's secluded enough. Oh man that would be so awesome if you could run on water.
Aw, man, talk about lame. [And then he thinks of something funnier. But... does he dare? YES. YES HE DOES.] But you know what'd be even better? Batman in one of those.
[And he still says Batman because he can't even bring himself to call Rob "Dick." It's still weird that he actually knows and that he's actually looking Dick in the eyes, but he's getting used to that. Even though he shouldn't. Because this is probably only a one-time thing. And he shouldn't be disappointed by that but, yeah, he totally is.]
I know right? He wouldn't even get in the water, either. And as much fun as the ocean is, alone it is not. [And he shrugs cause you know, playing in the ocean alone really isn't something he should be thinking about. Since Wally is here, and he's having a great time.]
[Snorts, cause really he shouldn't be laughing and he should stop himself from laughing, and while he's at it stop picturing Bruce in that kind of swimsuit because oh god how is he going to face him ever again.] Oh god, I can't even......... [And he loses the fight, bursting out laughing and even going as far as to fall back into another wave, making a fool of himself as he tries and not get a face full of sea water] He'd...probably wear the cowl, too...
[Finally he manages to control himself, taking a few deep breaths and calming down before looking back up at him.] Oh...um...yeah. That would make more sense. I just thought...no, nevermind it's cool. It's not like I'd be able to help you figure it out, right? You'll have to show me when you master it, though.
[Yeah, and this is probably the hardest Wally's laughed in a while. Because really. Batman in a swimsuit. With the cowl. It's pretty much a priceless image.]
[But somehow he manages to calm down, though he has to fight the urge to burst out laughing randomly because he will never be able to get that image out of his head. Too bad he's starting to get that uncomfortable feeling in the pit of his stomach again because he doesn't want to let his best friend down.]
No, hey, we can totally still train together, dude. I mean, you are like a stealth master and I kind of need a lot of help in that department.
[Not going to lie about this, but Wally's laugh is contagious. So seeing Wally laugh so hard made him laugh harder, if only for a moment. Then it was serious time yet again, especially with that fraction-of-a-second look he got from his best friend. He smiles again.]
Dude, of course I have to train you to be stealthy. How else are we getting anywhere in Vegas? [He laughs again and punches the speedster's arm lightly. Bro-punch. Those are cool. But then he's turning back into the waves again, walking further out into the water.]
Now c'mon man, I have to show you how to body surf. It's just kind of awesome.
[Wally laughs again, but more at himself this time than swimsuit!Batman.] Dude, but even if we get in, they might kick us out because you're so tiny.
[Bro-punch back, which really turns more into a bro-splash.] Alright, let's do it! Just... don't laugh at me if I suck. Which I might.
[And then he tries to run further into the ocean, but his foot gets caught in seaweed or whatever the hell is down there and pretty much lurches face-forward into the salty water. He should really just stop trying to use his super speed. He comes back up coughing, but he's okay. Seriously, he needs like a leash or something so he stops doing stupid impulsive things. Also I'm too lazy to find an icon for this part.]
I can get us in. It's a matter of staying in with your big mouth.
[He tries to splash him back but by that point Wally's already running out into the water, which he should probably tell him is a bad idea because footing on sand and everything else in the water is probably a bad idea...but oh well. It's too entertaining watching him fall. He laughs and pulls him back above the water.]
Kay, dude, we're fine right here. And it's not that hard. Most difficult part is keeping the water from going up your nose, which...might be really hard for you oh well. Have you ever been boogie boarding?
[Leaning forward slightly, maybe with a tiny little smirk on his face. This may or may not simply be an excuse to get a closer look at Dick's eyes.] I thought you already knew everything about me.
I know you dude. Thus why I have no faith. [And he laughs again, shaking his head because he knows his best friend better than that. Even if he promises.]
[And then Wally leans closer to him, and Dick honestly has to fight to keep from pulling away. Because having him that close...it's making his heart jump, okay? It is. But he wins the fight and doesn't pull away, but the battle he's having with his cheeks in order to not, you know, blush embarrassingly is not going as well. After a moment of 'ohgodhe'sreallyclosewhatisgoingonhe'smybestbro' he rolls his eyes.]
It's not like I'm a stalker, okay? Geez. Besides, if I wanted to know everything... [And he stops right there because maybe it's more fun just to smile evilly back at him. And because the questions he really wants to know aren't exactly...cool to ask.]
[Oh, and see, Wally didn't even realize what he was doing until after he'd done it, so he's just... stuck, possibly staring again, and trying not to look completely terrified that he is actually this close. They can just have an awkward moment of neither of them backing away until Dick rolls his eyes and Wally straightens, laughing.]
Okay, but you're the protégé of a stalker. That's pretty much the same thing, dude. And you won't even let me read my own file, so how should I know what you do and don't know about me— [He stops abruptly because that look on Dick's face is kind of unsettling, even though it probably wasn't meant to be. Just. Laugh it off, Wally.] Yeah, see, dude, right there? Stalker.
[And maybe if he's a little disappointed when Wally pulls away, it's no big deal. It's not like anyone could read his mind, though he'll definitely have to work on this around Megan. If she starts picking up any of these...unsettling emotions there might be problems. But when they're around the team it's never this bad. But whatever. Whatever.]
Just because I'm the protégé of a stalker does not mean I'm a stalker. Maybe kind of a stalker, but not a total stalker. Yet. Oh crap I'm going to end up just like Batman aren't I? [Okay, that laugh was a little forced, because while Dick may lo-care about Bruce, he does not want to be Bruce. Alone, tormented...god that would suck.]
[But Wally's not that dense, so that laugh? He totally sees through it. So he's going to reassure his best friend by throwing his arm around Dick's shoulders and giving him a light noogie.]
Dude, don't even. You are so not going to end up like Batman. You know why? You got me. [And he almost stops there, but he knows he can't take all the credit—] And the team. You're pretty much miles ahead of Bats already, and as long as you've got us, you'll never turn into him. We won't let you.
[I won't let you, he wants to add, but the cheesy grin on his face pretty much speaks for itself. He also realizes in this moment that he's stuck again, with his arm still slung around Dick's shoulders, but he decides that, at least for a little bit, he doesn't care. Dick's his best friend and there is nothing wrong with sharing a bro moment with your best friend. Because that's totally what this is. A bro moment. Which definitely isn't gay. In any way.]
[But then he stretches his arms above his head—also known as the most lame way to get out of... whatever that was—and pretends like stretching was totally what he meant to do anyway. You know, like a warm-up. He doesn't want to get... an arm cramp... or something.]
[He's not even going to deny why he's smiling so large, and when he ends up with his arm around Wally's waist it's obviously trying to shove him away, even as he laughs. Because this kinda thing? This makes him feel comfortable. Wally makes him feel comfortable. Which sounds really weird when he says it like that but it's the truth, okay?]
Yeah, you're right. Besides, I'm going to be better than Batman, so it's all good. Just make sure on my nights off we actually do something fun instead of...whatever it is Bruce does.
[And he's laughing again, because he can feel the little comment he leaves off, and maybe that makes him feel great. Because he knows Wally will be there for him and that makes it all worth it.]
[And the stretch thing? Totally obvious and a little awkward, but he just laughs at it again, punching Wally in the ribs playfully.] Just try and not drown, alright dude?
[Now it's business time, and Dick takes a step back, his back to the waves and he takes a quick look over his shoulder.] It's really not that hard, either. Just wait for a big wave to come by and dive with it. Kay?
