hey cool cousin iris (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧

[ the last time wally saw iris was at a family reunion in blue valley about five years ago. he was still just a teenager then, gangly and acne-ridden, but he's filled out a lot since then, kind of like a puppy growing into their paws. he's taller, almost six foot one, he has muscle definition and biceps you could break a pencil on (maybe; he hasn't actually tried that, but he's definitely going to consider it for the future, maybe make a vine out of it). he can't imagine iris wouldn't recognize him, because regardless of how tall or well toned he's gotten, he's still wally. he's still the same old dork who's always thought iris is the coolest person in the world and his dad was right when he told her on the phone that wally would be excited. he'd only be more excited if iris came to town with the flash in tow. ]

[ of course, the subject of the flash isn't something he realizes is going to be an issue. he's read iris' blog, so he only assumes that she'd be as excited as he is to talk to him about it (he is the official president of the blue valley flash fanclub, after all ... not that there are actually any other members but him but, you know, he's working on that). it's just — so cool that there's a real, live superhero in central city, and it makes wally wish he could visit a lot more often. but instead, he's stuck in blue valley for the summer, despite wanting to stay in palo alto. he thinks he actually kind of lucked out, considering if he'd somehow managed to stay in california (crashing at stewart's place, probably), he wouldn't have gotten to see iris — and, honestly, he'd suffer through a hundred blue valley summers just to see iris. ]

[ his dad is pretty vague about why iris is suddenly visiting — maybe she's working on a big time story for the central city picture news? wally has no idea what she'd be writing about if she's coming to blue valley, of all places. nothing ever happens here. but, whatever the reason, it's not really any of wally's concern, because it's been too long and he's just glad they'll get to hang out again. occasionally chatting on facebook isn't really the same, and he'd feel lame asking her to skype with him. it would be weird, right? who skypes their cousin? certainly not wally west, that's who. iris has just always been kind of an inspiration for wally, ever since they were kids, and in some ways he'd consider her his hero even more than the flash. ]

[ he volunteers to pick iris up at the tiny blue valley airport, nearly vibrating with excitement at the prospect of her arrival as he stands near the baggage carousel and tries not to physically bounce on his feet (his friends are always telling him how annoying it is — but it's mostly stew, who finds everything annoying). when he sees her coming through the door at the other end of the room, he stands up on his tip toes (not that he really needs to, considering he's already got a ridiculous amount of height over everyone else in the room) and waves her down. ]

Iris! [ he almost breaks out into a run, almost wants to tackle her with a hug, but he stays where he is and bounces on his feet anyway. wally's never been very good at hiding his excitement and now is most definitely no exception. ]

[Going to her uncle wasn't actually her first choice. Because her first choice when something is wrong, and she's upset-- is Barry. Then her dad, then Eddie. It's maybe not right, the order there but that's the way of things and it doesn't matter anymore anyway because she's so mad at all of them that she can't even talk to them. Not even a text and she's gotten more than a few dozens texts, call and voicemails from the three of them over the past few days that have gone ignored.

Let them worry for a few days. Or knowing her life, her uncle has already told her dad where she's at since they are brothers and all and apparently everyone in her whole life talks to each other about every single thing and she's included only if she has to be and not because anyone wants to involve her. But she's not bitter. No, Iris is never bitter, she's pissed as fuck.

She just-- needed the space from Central City and everyone there. Even asked to do her work on the road for the paper since she doesn't actually need to be there to write, she can write just as well on the plane or a coffee shop in Blue Valley. Or maybe she's just going to hang out with her cousin for a few weeks and forget about everything else.

It's been way too long since she's seen Wally anyway. Keeping on facebook isn't the same thing. It's not the same as ganging up with him to make fun of Barry (in a nice way, at least it more playful once Wally warmed up to Barry) or having ice cream eating wars or just talking about life in general.

There's a fresh batch of messages waiting for her when she steps off the plane, most of them she deletes immediately. But she does read the one from her uncle telling her that Wally is coming to get her and for the first time in what feels like forever (and is maybe more like forty eight hours) she actually smiles and nudges her way past people to get down to baggage claim faster.

She hears her name and turns and yeah he's a lot taller and his acne cleared up but it's still him.]
Wally!

[Better enjoy being nearly strangled by a girl solid six inches shorter than you cuz because that's how tight Iris is hugging him.]

Ugh, I missed you, nerd!
